Demon Slayer's level is awakened by Zenitsu's Thunder Breathing, while Nezuko's sun resistance meets fatigue and Inosuke competes with the Upper Moons.

Demon Slayer's acting prowess is highlighted in the sixth and final episode of Upper Moon Season 5.

The demon-slaying characters show a changing power level; in the final episode of season 5, Zenitsu Agatsuma is able to use Thunder Breathing when awake, while Nezuko Kamado, Hashira and Upper Moons make it difficult for powerful characters to be ranked. The balance of power shifts from almost untouchable Hashira to Muzan Kibutsuji himself, with each victory or defeat raising the stakes for the remaining fighters.

The power ratio of the series stands out for its harmonious tempo. Characters rarely experience hyperbolic power-ups found in other shonen anime; instead, each battle brings sensors as sharp as cream to the top and transforms them into a ladder as they compete against one another over a ceiling painted with assassins and demons.

The scale of power is steadily rising.

The strongest characters in Demon Slayer are not only the highest and most destructive. Although the cast is made up of some of the anime's most powerful characters, who deserves that label continues to change throughout the story. A once seemingly untouchable demon can become a model for Hashira's next ordeal, while an initially volatile assassin becomes an integral part of the final battle.

This shifting structure gives the series a steady rhythm: The actors don't constantly rebalance their strengths; instead, they are elevated by the consequences. Every defeat teaches us a lesson and every victory reveals that we need a stronger opponent.

Nezuko Kamado had her solar immunity, but she also had a roof.

Nezuko Kamado is one of the important characters in Demon Slayer. As the series progresses, she gains many abilities and its power has been compared to Upper Moon's. Her explosive Blood Demon Art, resizing and powerful regeneration skills make her a difficult demon to defeat.

What distinguishes Nezuko from the other demons, including Muzan, is her lack of resistance to sunlight. This ability gives her a unique place in the hierarchy. She has been able to fight off many demons with her toes and save Tanjiro's life more than once, but she gets tired easily.

Because her power is unique and limited, the audience will never see its full potential, but the story shapes her into one of those rare exceptions: a demon who doesn't rely on surviving to escape the sun.

Inosuke Hashibira converts his self-taught Beast Breathing into the Upper Moon pressure.

Like Zenitsu, Inosuke Hashibira made a first impression and did not feel like hero material. He soon became an invaluable part of Tanjiro's three shonen anime heroes. The most remarkable thing about Inosuki is that one of his over-explored instincts was to develop his own breathing system called Beast Breathing.

His growth is not sudden, but steady. He fights Rui's Spider-Father, but soon finds himself fighting Upper Moons like Daki on equal terms and using additional Beast Breathing forms to compete with them. This development makes him a major test for his ability to teach himself in a world dominated by formal practice.

Inosuke, along with Tanjiro and Zenitsu, is preparing the latest Upper Moons and Muzan to put his skills to the ultimate test. His power isn't presented as a gift from a teacher or a hidden bloodline; it has been built upon an idea, repetition, and style of its own.

Zenitsu Agatsuma moves from the unconscious task to awakening Thunder Breathing.

Zenitsu Agatsuma made a bad impression on Tanjiro when he first teamed up with him, behaving like a coward with a sword in his hand. This impression did not last long; fans soon experienced his miraculous Thunder Breathing.

Throughout the story, Zenitsu's ability to acquire his abilities only when he is asleep or unconscious initially disturbs him. A terrifying battle at Tsuzumi Mansion reveals how dangerous he can become when fear no longer prevents him from moving around.

Zenitsu has come a long way since that battle. He is now able to zig-zag the battleground using his Thunder Breathing. Demon Slayer fans saw action when Zenitsu helped Inosuke fight Daki, quickly changing direction to avoid Daki's belt attacks and finding holes in his defenses.

In the final episode of season 5, viewers see a new avenue for former coward: Zenji Su can use Thunder Breathing while awake. An important aspect of this change is that it removes the story's main limitation on its power. A character who previously needed to be unconscious in order to engage in combat is now likely to act with full consciousness, which has elevated the actors' hierarchy.

Kocho Shinobu used poison instead of beheading.

Shinobu Kocho humbly ranks Hashira among the strongest Demon Slayer characters, but her unique abilities and experience are no reason to ignore.

Her method is precise. When fighting a female demon from the clan of Rui, as shown by Shinobu, she covers her Nichirin sword tip with demon poison and stabs enemies with one blade to deliver that venom. She has no physical ability to decapitate gods in this way, using a weapon built for precision thrusting.

That approach makes her dangerous in a way that she does not rely on absolute muscle, but it has its limitations. Sadly, this was not enough to stop Doma in Demon Slayer's Infinity Castle Arc; although Shinobu's venomous form proves his intelligence, the story goes that Hashira can only become vulnerable when he builds up his greatest strength against an opponent.

Hantengu increases the threats from Upper Moon.

As the fourth Upper Moon, Hantengu is not a hard toy. What makes Hanteng powerful is his ability to create many clones of himself. He himself isn't the world's greatest fighter, but his clones replicate Upper moon's strength and powers. To fight against Hanteng, he must compete with no less than four other Uppermoon demons - which is a difficult proposition for everyone, including Hashira.

The only way to kill Hantengu is by killing his main body, but the usual decapitation doesn't work. It is known for its stealth abilities and is difficult to detect. Even when faced with Mitsuri Kanroji, Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya, Hantengyu was able to stop them.

Hantengu's threat is not a one-time, massive blow; it's an escalating problem. One Upper Moon becomes many and the battle has become less about strength and more about uncovering origin, which makes him one of the most troublesome demons among actors.

Mitsuri Kanroji's flexibility became a battle saving advantage.

Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji is one of the most physically powerful Hashiras, but her true strength lies in quick reactions and ease. Mitsuri's sword acts like a ribbon, and she has borrowed the art of Flame Breathing to develop her special fighting style. Combined with her flowing blade and her mysterious cat-like creatures, Missouri will have no problem solving most demons.

Although it does not take long for Missouri to shine like other Hashira, she is able to prove herself as a highly skilled fighter. Her skills are especially evident during her fight with the Upper Moon (Hantengu: The Upper moon 4). She manages to hold out for a long time with serpent-shaped heads while focusing on killing his main body, not only saving Tanjiro, Nezuko and Genya.

Her incredible stamina and strength are enough to frighten even Hantengu. That said, if Tanjiro hadn't cut off the original demon in time, Mitsuri would have been killed by a clone of Hantengou. His agility is not an JUST stylistic ability; it is what keeps a group alive long enough for the right kill to occur.

Gyutaro and Daki make Upper Moon 6 a matter of survival for the pair.

The greatest part of Gyutaro's power as an exorcist comes from his bond with his sister Daki, and this is a strength that these same demons can exploit, as seen throughout the Entertainment District arc: when they are both beheaded alive, they can survive and reattach their heads to continue fighting.

Gyutaro would only die by mutual beheading. This rule also describes Upper Moon 6 as a demon of Upper Rank 6, one of the most difficult problems faced by Slayers. A single killing wound was not enough; in battle, both demons lost their heads at the same time.

Gyutaro was almost overwhelmed by Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, who robbed him of his eye and hand before the battle ended, forcing him to retire prematurely. Meanwhile, Daki ends up attacking Zenitsu's and Inosuke's allies at a high altitude.

This couple's strength comes from surviving together; they are not just two powerful demons, but a connected threat that makes us think beyond the standard rules of beheading.

Obinna Iguro uses the patience of the snake Hashimura against Muzan.

Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Hashira fights fast and smoothly as his name implies. His relatively quiet but fearsome demeanor is perfect for him. Like a snake, Obanai is always on the lookout for the best moment to attack.

Obanai is the next Hashira, and fans of the series have yet to see much action until the final arc, which is a real shame. When Infinity Castle finally lets him act, he shows just how powerful JUST can be.

After managing to awaken the Demon Slayer Mark, Obanai briefly drives off Muzan and saves Tanjiro from certain death. At that point his place is transformed into what should be read in a level-playing mode. He isn't a sidekick waiting for importance; he's a warrior with an issue of control and balance when it comes to the final pressure of the story.

Muichiro Tokito brings the power of Mist Hashira to Kokushibo.

Despite his youth, Mist Hashira is unusually powerful. After watching his twin brother Yuichiro die at the hands of a demon, Muichuro develops a deep hatred for all demons. His anger and heartless armor serve as the fuel needed to become one of the best Hashira.

For his natural talent and impressive displays, he is praised by many of the older Hashira. Muichiro was able to take his place in Hashira only 2 months after overcoming years of training. He not only killed a demon before becoming Hashira but also transformed his Nichirin Sword into red during battles with High Lord Kokushibo.

Muichiro's strength is unusual in that it does not build up slowly. It seems to be fully formed and shaped by loss and quality, rather than long training. His ability to withstand Kokushibo gives him a rare place among the Hashira - a character whose threat level will decrease at an early age.

Tengen Uzui shows the cost of being the fastest Hashira.

The former Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui is considered to be the second largest, only behind Rengoku. He was also the fastest. In the final battle of Entertainment Zone, Tengen was a major force and miraculously defeated Upper Moon 6.

Even Guitaro, Sound Hashira tries to defeat but only with the help of Tanjiro. This limitation does not diminish his power. Seeing Tengen in action proves his unmatched strength, technique and brilliant grace as Sound Hashimura flickered across the screen like a dynamo of sound, displaying both precision and power perfectly until the end of the final battle.

Tengen's story also shows the physical cost of this smoothness. He loses an eye and a hand in the entertainment district arc, and injuries force him into early retirement. His speed and techniques are exceptional, but Upper Moons is capable of punishing even the next strongest Hashira.

Ufotable images and further adventures

The character scenes described in the source are related to Ufotable and reinforce the series' changing power-scale. Nezuko's sunshine resistance, Zenitsu's vigilant Thunder Breathing, Tengen's miraculous Upper Moon 6 battle and Obanai's brief modification of Muzan all demonstrate the same potential; Demon Slayer is still improving results without sacrificing stability.

For readers who have been keeping track of the characters' ranks, the main question is not which character is the most powerful at any given time. The story continues to move the answer forward: Hashira, Upper Moons and Kamado brothers finally approach Upper Moon and Muzan with abilities that have already shifted their balance, showing how quickly each new battle can change rankings.
