When you look back at One Piece, here are six plot twists that feel different.
A look back at One Piece reveals the sacrifices of Kuma, the betrayal by CP9, Shanks' lineage and Oda's anticipated deeper narrative interests.
Eiichiro Oda's One Piece takes on a new meaning when audiences revisit its arcs. The series is widely known for anticipation and plot twisting, and while momentum may not be the strength, precise arcs are rewarded by retrospection as they connect to subsequent interpretations. Building up shocking turns provides satisfaction that cannot be matched by shorter streams, and fan theories constructed over years of using cues and time sometimes become true to some extent, reinforcing a sense of community.
Kuma's rise to warlordship was a cover-up.
The Sabaody Archipelago Arc breaks hearts when Bartholomew Kuma separates the Straw Hats. Fans have since hated Kum, and Monkey D. Luffy's scream echoes in their minds. The subsequent arc and two years of time passing has not eased the pain; nevertheless, Kuma protects Thousand Sunny and is still waiting for the Strow Hats to return.
At this point, he is no longer a warrior but has become the slave of dragons from heaven. The Egghead Arc is where all the pieces come together. His family was enslaved and Kuma's past may be the worst backstory in One Piece.
Kuma later co-founded the Resistance Army and met Dragon and Ivankov at God Valley. Images also show Kuma, Ivankoff, and Jenny together in God Valley.[citation needed] Using the Paw-Paw fruit, he revived people to help them, including transporting 500 slaves from God Valley and healing the sick and elderly of Sorbet Kingdom.
Along with his best friend, a revolutionary named Jeannie, he was enslaved and sentenced to death for Sapphire Scales disease and gave birth to a daughter. Kumar later adopted her daughter Jewelry Bonney. He then relinquished free will in order to ensure Bonnie's safety.
CP9's friendly faces have been a long illusion
The Water 7 Saga is highly regarded as one of the best sets in the One Piece arcs. Nico Robin's backstory takes its cake, but fans have been on the edge of their seats since Rob Lucci, Kaku, Kalifa and Blueno's demonic intentions were revealed in Water 7.
When the officers about CP9 revealed their true identities, all four of them turned out to be security agents working for a world government.
The four became friends with Iceburg and Galley-La Company employees.
Looking back at One Piece's Water 7 Arc, how much they can even pretend marks it as one of the scariest and unforgettable anime betrayals.
Shanks' bloodline rewrote its role.
Red-Haired Shanks is the most powerful character in One Piece, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and a former apprentice of Gol D. Roger. He inspired Monkey D. Luffy to become a pirate by accidentally giving him human-human fruit (Model: Nika) and transferring him into the iconic Straw Hat.
Fans have been theorizing about Shanks' motives and family for years, and while some predictions have come true, every revelation of Shanks adds more layers to his character.
Shanks is the biological son of Figarland Garling and twin brother to Shamrock. The Dragon left him on board Roger Pirates during the God Valley Incident at his mother's request.
Although some parts of the puzzle remain unresolved, Shanks's involvement in Marineford demonstrates that the World Government knows about the clans and has authority over them. When he saves Luffy but loses his arm, shanks is freed from the Abyss Mark. Whether or not he knew the true name and power of the Gum-Gum fruit, whether it was intended for someone else, or even if he wanted to share it with Luffy remains a matter of debate.
Sanji's Mr. Prince nickname was rooted in a hidden past.
In One Piece's Alabasta Arc, Sanji saves the Straw Hat Pirates from imprisonment in order to distract his main enemy Sir Crocodile under the alias of Mr. Prince. He uses a gentle and satirical voice to feign defeat for millions and capture the crocodile.
While Sanji may appear to have been hastily invented, the Whole Cake Island Arc proves that this was likely a deliberate premonition: Zeff's relationship with Sanji is his original backstory. But on one rare occasion, Chef Straw Hat gains a second secret background story.
Sanji was of German descent and the third son of the royal Winsmoke family. As his progressive genes failed to unfold in him, he was brutally tortured by his father Vinsmuke Judge and his brothers.
Sanji escapes and leaves his name behind, believing Zeph to be his real father and permanently rejecting the Judge in Whole Cake Island Arc. The videos show Sanji as a young man inside a cage with a metal mask; Sanji is seen fending off Judge's attack, crying after hearing Luffy's promise, and repudiating Vinsmoke Judge.
By reviewing the earlier scenes, viewers can rethink how they perceive Sanji's behaviour, especially his kindness towards women.
The fragrance of the kangaroo foretold treachery
Kurozumi Kanjuro is one of Kozuki Oden's loyal retainers at the Dressrosa Arc, and for decades served as one of the Nine Scabbards.
Over the years, Kanjuro has acted as a samurai of perfect honour and sacrificed himself to free Kim Eun.
Kanjuro's true allegiance concerns the Kurizumi family, who are acting as spies. However, it is possible to anticipate Kanjiro's betrayal before One Piece's Wano Arc; most notably in his use of Brush-Brush fruit.
Kanjuro pretends not to be good at drawing with his left hand, but he's actually right-handed and a really brilliant artist who uses it delicately in other tasks.
Saul's survival led to a reunion with Robin
One of the most prominent figures in Nicorubin's backstory is Jagua de Sol. Ohara was one of five lieutenant commanders intended to lead Buster Call, but he left due to his moral position. Unbeknownst to the former second-in-command, a young red man arrives on board and befriends Robin.
In Buster Call, he helps Robin escape from Aokiji, who has covered Saul in ice but somehow frees Robin. For many years, he and the World Government have assumed that Robin is dead.
One Piece's Egghead Arc holds many surprises for fans. Vegapunk tells Robin that scholars from Ohara threw the books into a lake to preserve them, and then transported them safely to Elbaph.
The benefits of recalling
The value to readers is not £ JUST . Oda's lengthy leads in the arcs translate early pain into later understanding: Kuma's brutality protects, CP9's friendship punches through, Shanks' Straw Hat becomes clan; Sanji's joke wounds; Kanjuro's quirks humor and premature death are survival.
