Satoru Gojo of Jujutsu Kaisen won first place after four consecutive losing seasons.
Satoru Gojo topped the anime teachers poll four years in a row, ending Koro-sensei's six consecutive first place finishes in the final World Teachers Day rankings.
Satoru Gojo lost in a survey of anime teachers for four years.
Satoru Gojo, the most powerful wizard in jujutsu, won first place in Anime!Anime!'s annual World Teachers' Day poll and dropped out of the top spot for four years. The survey asked participants which anime character comes to mind when they think about a teacher, collecting 267 responses from September 29 through October 2, with an estimated ၁၆% votes favoring Gojo.
Why did the audience vote for Gojo?
Gojo's dedication to nurturing the younger generation was cited as a major reason for his first place finish. The result moved him from a long near-win form to the top of the leaderboard, with Assassination Classroom's Gojo and Koro-sensei.
Koro-sensei's six-year reign was over.
Koro-sensei took second place with about ၁၄% of the votes. He had been in first place for six consecutive years, from ၂၀၂၀ to ၂၀၂၅, but the final results pushed him down one position. Hansuke Doi of Nintama Rantaro finished third. Gintoki Sakata also made it into the ranking via alternate persona Ginpachi-sensai of Class 3-Z through his character Kinpachika Katsuta.

History of Gojo's wish
Gojo debuted in the Anime!Anime! poll ratings on ၂၀၂၁ and reached fifth place after the airing of Jujutsu Kaisen anime script. Since then, he has been extremely popular but consistently ranks second.
The teaching motivation behind Gojo's character
There is a clear reason for Gojo to become a teacher at Tokyo Ju-Jitsu High School and teach the next generation. As one of the best living magicians, there were few things he could not accomplish on his own; however, this did not stop his best friend Suguru Gito from taking the dark path that was largely shaped by the vices of jujutsu clubs.
This failure allowed Gojo to raise a new generation of magicians who were able to adapt to society's antiquated traditions under the control of conservative elites. His methods often deviated from the norm, but he was still loved by both his students and movie audiences.
What does this mean for Jujutsu Kaisen fans?
The poll result solidifies a key part of Gojo's appeal. He is remembered not only for his powers, but also for the future he tries to build with the students he trains. It gives readers a clearer understanding of how fan polls rank master characters in anime franchises and how one former top actor can be replaced by another most popular.
Jujutsu Kaisen is currently preparing for the release of season 4. The staff has mentioned teaser videos, but an exact release window remains missing at some point around ၂၀၂၇. The series' cast includes Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori and Yuichi Nakamura as Satoru Gojo.
