Dragon Ball is officially entering a new era under the leadership of Toyotarou.
Toyotarou further shapes Dragon Ball through promo art, recreating scenes from Beerus' manga and future Galactic Patrol series.
Forty years later, Dragon Ball is shaped more by Toyotarou than Akira Toriyama.
Forty years later, it seems that Dragon Ball is heading into a new era in which Toyotarou, the Dragon Ball Super mangaka, has emerged as the creative reference for the franchise. New artwork and changes to the God of Destruction Beerus Arc re-creation clear the way: The entire signature will henceforth follow Toyotaru's lead.
The move also appears to be related to plans by Dragon Ball IP owners Capsule Corp Tokyo, Shueisha and Toei. Their approach is that when the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Galactic Patrol Arc comes out, fans will be more ready to embrace the next generation of Dragon Ball led by Akira Toriyama's friend.
The promotional art is directed at Tokyo Taru.
Over the years, most Dragon Ball promotional artwork has used Akira Toriyama's panels and cover artwork as primary references, turning those images into basic elements of the franchise. The format is now shifting to Tokyo Toru's own work.
The recently released official t-shirt design features an image of Ultra Instinct Goku, and clearly uses Toyotarou's own Ultra instinctGoku from Chapter 41 of the Dragon Ball Super manga as its main inspiration. It follows new cards from the Diramix lamincard set, using the unique balance of Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue designs.
The T-shirt design was apparently inspired by the artwork of Toyota Tru used on the cover of France's Dual Volume 1. & This change isn't limited to the merchandise, and the anime side often credits Toyotarou as well.
The Beerus remake incorporates scenes from the manga.
The Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, written by Toyotarou, was a key feature of the change. However, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime remake also continued to add scenes that were previously manga-only.
Goku appears to have used the Super Saiyan deity to fight Frieza during the Golden Fleece series. At that time, he only appeared in a short three-page manga adaptation by Toyotaro and never in the ၂၀၁၅ anime and Resurrection 'F' movie.
The re-created Episode 1 also includes a scene showing Goku's image training of Frieza, Cell and Buu. This scene was previously a Manga-only moment that has been rewritten and added to the new version.
The manga is still resting, as the future becomes brighter.
All this despite the fact that Dragon Ball Super manga has been on an ongoing hiatus since February ၂၀၁၅, which began after the release of dragon ball super chapter 104, the first episode drawn by Toyotarou without Toriyama's editorial assistance.
When the Dragon Ball Super manga returns, it will be the first arc of an official dragon ball manga created under Toriyama's personal supervision. For the next year or two, there may still be surviving manuscripts by Toriyama detailing the story; however, no plot boards, artwork, or specific dialogue has been intercepted from Toryama.
Since Toyotarou had already been working on the complete Dragon Ball Super script before Toriyama's death, there is a real possibility that the next installment will be written and drawn entirely by Toyota.
