Season 2, episode 3 of Black Clover: Upgrade the porch by using the front door.
Black Clover Season 2 Episode 3 opens the first door to the afterworld and quickly changes the scale of the war. The episode follows the first two episodes of season 2, showing how strong characters become, and promotes a re-adventure. The brief advantage of the Clover Kingdom disappears as high level demons invade the battlefield and heroes must fight back in both Spade's realm and Clover's kingdom.
The first door resets the battle to Spade Kingdom.
The conflict picks up where part 2 left off, with the two most advanced demons emerging from the underworld. In episode 3, Lilith and Nahamah establish themselves almost immediately as formidable threats. Nacht avoids their first attacks but is able to injure them even though the two demons barely respect him.
The first gate of the Underworld is much more than an introduction to a new group of enemies. Qliphoth's roots eject vanities from the surrounding atmosphere, and demons pour in large numbers into the underworld. The ancient mythical Mereoleona has been defeated before but rises again and confronts a giant.
Zenon explains that the barrier between humanity and the Underworld is preventing them from gaining full access to their demonic contracts. After the first gate disappears, Zenon, Vanica, and Dante are finally able to use their evil powers of 100%.
Nacht understands the problem more clearly than anyone else. Everything will only get worse until Morris continues to speed up Qliphoth's tree. Unfortunately for the heroes, Lilith and Nahamah are completely unable to reach him. For the first time ever, Nacht arrives at the same conclusion that fans may already have known: The team needs Asta.
Julius takes his time until he reaches Asta's Devil Union.
When the conflict unexpectedly extends beyond Spade Kingdom, an ancient demon appears in Clover Kingdom. As most of the strongest Magic Knights are already involved in the invasion, it dangerously covers the kingdom. While Kaiser and Purple Orcas try to stop its attacks, the remaining forces move civilians to safety and do everything they can to slow down the demon.
However, all they do is not enough. The reason that even Damnatio's Scale Magic has to fight the beast is because of the enormous amount of pride it possesses. When Juliet arrives, a turning point in the battle takes place. In an instant, the Magician King finally reveals himself again.
Unfortunately, the change is only temporary. Julian tries to use time magic but his power is lost before he finishes the job. D'Amantino soon reaches its limit, leaving the kingdom completely vulnerable to another major invasion.
Her Anti-Magic completely overcomes the devil's tricks. There is also something particularly satisfying in Asta calling Damnatio to watch and protect the Clover Kingdom with his scar. Damnation once stood at the center of Asta's trial because of her mythology.
The initial panic of the civilians reinforces this ruse. Some mistakenly think that Astera is just another creature, until others recognize her as one who has come to their rescue. In the end, Esther ends the battle in a dramatic way; she merely splits the giant beast into two halves.
The Heart Kingdom group is using state-of-the-art magic to enter.
Returning to Spade Kingdom, the demons that have escaped from the Underworld attack civilians in large numbers. Fuegoleon helps with Salamander to stop them, but there are many enemies who can be left alone. Fortunately, Noelle, Luck, Charmy, Secre, Leopold and others finally enter the battlefield after completing their training.
With the help of Elves and Dryads, the group has learned Ultimate Magic, and the results speak for themselves. The group eliminates demons that threaten civilians without harming those around them. Luck gets one of her best showings of progress when she can easily take care of a bunch of middle-level demons.
They barely have time to prepare for an attack, so quick is the luck that responds to them, and they're already dead. It's a simple plot but its growth has been captured exactly -- Luck always tends toward speed and aggression, but now behind these qualities lies a completely different precision and dazzling power.
Noel immediately heads to the castle in search of Veronica, who also sets up an exciting future confrontation.
We gain a better speed without losing risk.
Season 2, Episode 3 includes many action segments, but unlike the previous episode they are rarely over-the-top. Part of this improvement comes from reducing the number of flashbacks. Previously in the series, battles were repeatedly paused to clarify various characters' training and backstories. Flashback now clears Ultimate Magic as a major interruption and provides live support for one of the plot's biggest events.
Night's attempts to stay alive in the face of Lilith and Nahma are unable to resolve the confrontation immediately, but build on their strength. The transformation of Dark Triad raises the stakes nicely. Although the battle between Demons and Asta is brief, its overwhelming victory makes it clear that Devil Union was intended to demonstrate just how powerful he can be.
After watching these characters struggle and overcome their limitations time and again, it's incredibly satisfying to see what they can do now.
The episode was recorded by Studio Pierrot, starring Gakuto Kajiwara as Asta and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Yuno. Black Clover found a better rhythm this week, and Asta's completed Devil Union began to perform satisfyingly and visually impressively. The lack of flashbacks makes the action flow more naturally, balancing multiple battles without the plot being fragmented like in Episode 2.
What happens when you open the door?
