Viz Media and Manga Plus are releasing Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Episode 38 on Tuesday, October 20, ၂၀၂၆, which brings Naruto and Hinata back into the spotlight after being trapped in a timeless dimension created by Kawaki's Daikokuten ability. The official Naruto website shared a preview page showing Kawaki arriving unexpectedly to meet the couple with the caption "Sorry... for keeping you locked up for so long".
The pilot film reconnects the couple with Kawaki, who is stranded.
The preview confirms that Naruto and Hinata are inside a timeless surface created by Kawaki's Daikokuten ability.
The series' setup depicts a village that has been rebuilt with altered memories. The official description is "After everyone's memories have changed, Boruto finds himself being executed by his own village" and asks: "What kind of future awaits Boruto after escaping Sasuke ...?"
And sales showed that this series is still gaining momentum.
Volume 9, the final volume of the manga, titled "Shattering Futures" after its re-release in September, is one of Japan's top 10 best selling manga volumes. According to Oricon, the book sold ၃၄,၁၇၄ copies within two days of its October 2 release and ranked #6 on the Sunday Manga Sales Chart for the week of September 28-October 4.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto under the supervision of original series creator Masashi Kishimoto, and is currently ongoing. It serves as a sequel to The Generations of Boruto which follows Boruto, Naruto, and his friends many years after the catastrophic events that ended Part I. An accompanying series profile lists Boruto as an action-adventure and fantasy manga published on August 21, ၂၀၂၃.
The Rasengan project marks the return of Naruto in ၂၀၂၇.
This episode comes amid a broader push for the franchise. At this year's New York Comic Con, Naruto franchisee announced a three-year roadmap for ၂၀၂၇-၂၀၂၉ called "Project Rasengan", which includes a new limited animated TV series, card game, mobile game and manga book.
Masashi Kishimoto is currently writing and illustrating a new Naruto manga titled Naruto: Shadow Rising, which has been documented for the first time since both original manga ended production of a major Naruto series in ၂၀၁၄.
The Naruto mobile game was previously exclusive to China and will eventually be released in English. The accompanying Naruto TV series profile describes it as a TV-PG action, adventure, comedy and fantasy show that aired from ၂၀၀၂ to ၂၀၀၇, with Masashi Kishimoto serving as showrunner and Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama starring.
