There are five Decepticons more powerful than Megatron.
Sixshot, Scorponok, Thunderwing, Overlord and The Fallen can surpass Megatron with their unique designs, battlefield skills and Cybertronian abilities.
Although Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons, the Transformers sequence repeatedly shows that he has been surpassed by five rivals - Sixshot, Scorponok, Thunderwing, Overlord and The Fallen. They are superior to an ordinary squad commander due to their unique designs, field records or connections with former Cybertronian forces. Some of these Deceptions trace their power back to a completely different design and system, while others answer to world organizations much older than the Deception cause.
The seventh mode of Sixshot redefined Megatron's attack surface.
Sixshot from The Transformers : The Headmasters is the clearest example of a Decepticon, and its completeness may surpass Megatron's raw claim. His own Hasbro profile has twice as much squad membership value as his modifications, with only six of his standalone versions rated higher in battle value than Megatran's technological prowess.
He depicts Wingwolf as the ultimate shadow who can deliver the final blow by using all five basic twists to attack Ultra Magnus from all angles simultaneously. According to Sixshot's official definition, Solo Transformer Assault Group is a battlefield unit created to replace an entire force and send him alone into combat zones where he would need special forces coordinated by Decepticon commandos.
Sixshot openly questions Galvatron's orders and participates in his battles with Cybertron around the world, a behavior that could kill any standard Decepticon, but his advantage in an attack keeps him unaffected during stages. Megatron' s own command does not harm Sixshot.
Scorponok's Titan Class body changes the physical proportions of leadership.
Scorponok's Transtector body fits the same city proportions as Fortress Maximus, giving it a physical presence unmatched by any version of Megatron's body.
When Galvatron reveals his plan to absorb the Decepticons' best warriors in order to create the Grand Galvatton, Scorponok launches an operation that lures all of the Autobot Headmasters directly into a betrayal.
Thunderwing gave Optimus Prime and Unicron a battlefield that Megatron could not match.
In the Marvel Transformers comics, Thunderwing hijacks a spacecraft and embarks on a spaceship to tear down its Auto-bot defenders using Creation Matrix taken from an Autobot search party that has been defeated in deep space. Thunderwing finds his way into the Ark and uses only his basic combat skills to directly confront Optimus Prime. Megatron never attacks so many crew members at once with full crews.
Thunderwing rarely enjoys the Creation Matrix, combining it with Cybertron's power to create a life that is almost exclusively connected to Autobots. In order to stop him after he has completely possessed him, the Autobot and Decepticons must fight together by removing their warhead. The damaged Matrix later drives Thunderwing to directly attack Unicron.
Overlord conceived of violence as a task that would end the world.
In Last Stand of the Wreckers, Overlord breaks into prison gang Garrus-9 and personally beats up Fortress Maximus after he murders its commander for refusing to surrender his orders. The overlords' ranking as level 6 reflects their role aimed at depopulating an entire world; they are capable of more destruction than regular soldiers like Megatrons.
During the Japanese G1 animated sequel, Overlord and his evil armies nearly wipe out the entire planet of Feminia from the map in a single attack, almost killing Victory Saber, which was specifically designed to stand as Autobots' ultimate defense against threats like him. Megatron will not be able to completely destroy an entire planet on its own throughout the Transformers sequence.
The Fallen is an ideology that worships Megatron, not a subject he controls.
Megatronus Prime establishes the concept upon which he builds his entire war. In Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen,Megatron kneels before the fallen and causes his own ascension through a piece of AllSpark.
When Optimus Prime finally comes face-to-face with the Fallen, he must integrate Jetfire's components into his body in order to survive. According to Cybertronian law, only a descendant of Primes can kill a fallen one, and no special powers are required - a restriction that ordinary Autobots never take advantage of for Megatron to be injured or defeated.
For our Transformers readers, why does this distinction matter?
Megatron is not weak. Leadership and green threat levels are separate questions in Transformers . Sixshot, Scorponok, Thunderwing, Overlord, and The Fallen represent different limitations: there are shifts, dimensions, mythical artwork, orders to kill the world, and a founding ideology. Although readers of any sequence may see Megatran as the ultimate Decepticon, the broad format reveals that he lacks power by denying his authority.
