I was talking about Galactic Baseball with Acky Bright at New York Comic Con 2026.

Acky Bright said the GalaXic Baseball League could release five volumes for a new competition at ၂၀၂၆ New York Comic Con.

At New York Comic Con 2026, Acky Bright, creator of the GalaXic Baseball League manga, said in an interview with Anime Herald that it started as a concept by a group of MLB players, went through a long contract phase and is now level 1 for the big IP.

From an IP Idea to the First Manga Film
Bright says that the team of MLB players has IP and it was a conversation a few years ago when he wanted to do something. After signing several contracts over two years, the team finally got his manga, he said.

Arc of competition as season one
When Anime Herald asked him how much manga he could produce, Bright replied that in terms of quantity there were about five sets for the current series. He said this figure obscures the competition; it's not a league.

Underdog look, handwritten poster and editing by Luna
Anime Herald questioned why the letters GAIA were clearly visible on the players' uniforms, but not on the tournament poster. Bright said that the difference was purposely made. When readers first encountered Gaia's team, they had a very poor squad and they were losers. The poster is handwritten to reflect this initial point.

Chapter Six: The Spider and His Favorite Characters
When asked which player he prefers to draw, Bryant said that this is always a difficult question. He liked characters who were fun and whose movements were easy to express; many of the characters on the cover had these qualities.

Bright said that she was very sad when an interviewer asked her to give up on the home run, which made her happy as readers already had a favorite character.

In an earlier interview, Anime Herald had heard that Bright was a fan of Spider-Man and asked him which baseball team he rooted for Spider-man. Bright said he didn't know off the top of his head but added that there would be a spider figure in episode six.

Baseball fans, non-fans and children
Bright said that readers who are baseball and MLB fans can easily access the manga, but he also wants people who don't know about baseball - including those who have never watched a game in his life - to know that this story is for them as well.

Otonni, team sports and transformed heroes
When asked how much he opposed Shohei Ohtani-san due to her popularity as the main character in the anime Heart, Bright said that she treated everyone equally. Thinking about Otani, at this point, he says that Ohatani doesn't want to be a star. It is baseball and it is a team sport.

Power suits and my first special power.
Bright says that the players will have powered suits and they'll have special abilities coming out. José RAM Írez was the first to demonstrate this ability. Bright said he didn't plan for this moment.

Writing is a muscle.
When asked how he felt about exercising his writing muscles as a writer and storyteller, Bright said that he had actually done so. He called this work - along with all other previous works - "a unique way of living".

First, a long relationship with manga.
Bright then asked Anime Herald a question of his own.

Anime Herald replied that hope had nothing to do with which team won, and I hoped Bright would encourage madness by referring to the moment when a soccer ball smashed into his glove saying, "Keep doing it like this".

He says he's been following him since Anime Herald before anyone in the United States knew about him, and that hearing this was something he would have always noticed. Bright called the relationship great, thanking Anime Herald, for having followed him from the beginning.

In the United States, for example, there is no such thing as a credit card.
