The first title mixes traditional fantasy with reverse power.
While Isekai-style fantasy works have been emerging over the past few years, this series specifically pertains to the genre of traditional fiction. The first title is based on a popular web novel by Asa Rokushima and was released in January 2013 on Shosetsuka ni Naro's self-publishing site ၂၀၂၁.
The story is about Rein, an adventurer in the Dungeons. & Rein's life went smoothly until he was kicked out of his team for not being able to 'use' after upgrading everyone's equipment. Disappointed, he collected all the hubris from the squad members' weapons and cast iron into a single ordinary brass sword, so this unpretentious weapon instantly gained the status of "super-powerful", allowing him to overcome any danger faced by an inexperienced warrior like Rein.
Based on Niconico's viewer feedback, P.A Works' adaptation of Rokushima's hit series has garnered attention for its complex blend of comedy and seriousness. This balance is particularly prominent in Episode 2. A character with a celebrity backstory is depicted happily singing the anime ending song.
In the ratings, Rein has accumulated all of the points she spent on "The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life", with images praising P.A. Works and Lily blaming Rein.
My second title draws on the absurdity of a student council.
Niconico's second highest-rated work relies heavily on the committee. Produced by Studio Passione, the studio behind From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! revolves around a stagnant literary fanatic named Ume Mizunoe.
Although the series is not considered to be satire, Passione's witty bits of life are filled with absurdities typical in the realm of suspense. In one episode, Arisu Terui, a student council treasurer who normally conceals their identity, punishes bullies by throwing them against the wall of a building. This humorous moment gained significant attention on Niconico, as one viewer commented jokingly: "Let every wall be gentle".
The rating material also shows Komaro Michinoku fighting his alcohol in Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! with an image of Passione.
For non-Japanese viewers, this means: "I'm not a Japanese person.
For viewers outside of Japan, The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life was streamed on Crunchyroll and even had slots in the Student Council! is available on OceanVeil. Therefore, October's ၂၀၂၆ ratings provide a solid entry point into Spring 2026 through Nikon's early season content measurements.
