Solo Leveling has officially confirmed Go Gunhee's return in the new prequel.

Solo Leveling: Arise celebrates its ၂.၅th anniversary with the release of Go Gunhee's Hunter Origin Story, which is set to be released on March 28, 2018.

A new sequel, centered on Go Gunhee's backstory and the birth of a South Korean hunting fraternity, arrives with the latest update to commemorate the ၂.၅th anniversary of Solo Leveling: Arise. For its release, Netmarble added a new webtoon episode featuring go gunhee onto the official website, and fans also received an animated version.

Go Gunhee's origins as a hunter date back some 70 years before Sung Jinwoo was born.

Gogunhee's origins are described in the webtoon Solo Leveling, about 70 years before Song Jin Woo's story. Since childhood, Goo Gwang Hee has acquired anthropological qualities including the ability to see spirits and sense approaching danger.

Go Gunhee's psychic abilities become stronger as he grows older, but are treated more like a curse than a gift in the story. He is able to feel bad events by foreseeing them, but can do little to prevent them and is haunted by the spirits of those he cannot protect. Eventually, Go uses his foresight to become the successful CEO, but changes when dungeon finds himself in the middle of a breakup.

While trying to save a young girl from magical creatures that have escaped through one of the portals, Go Gun-hee finds himself awakened as Hunter. Unable to protect anyone in his capacity as Hunter, he is deeply despondent. Woo Jinchul, who had been rescued by Go Gunhe on an assignment many years earlier, discovers him on the side of the road.

An idealized universe, not the original continuum.

In Solo Leveling: Arise, Go Gunhee's backstory is inspired by but significantly different from the original series. The biggest sequel conflict comes from Gogonhe's S-Rank power in the original manga coming from his position as a vessel for the ruler, though this new retelling does not mention him experiencing any organization.

The Hunter Origin webtoon is filled with alternate timelines versions of the original Solo Leveling cast, including Cha Haein's version where she meets Sung Jinwoo before he becomes S-Rank; a version of Sung Jinah who wakes up as Hunter JUST like her brother; and Lee Joon Hee, the only survivor from the Double dungeon incident to be reincarnated as S- Rank after awakening as Lee Joohee. Even Sung Jinwo's personal backstory in Shadow Monarch's solo leveling: Arise episode of Hunter Origin differs 1:1 from the original story.

Netmarble , KakaoPage, and A-1 Pictures. The series depicts Go Gun-hee seeing ghosts in his youth, rescuing a little girl, looking into the mirror to cry, forming the Hunter's Association, and being saved by Woo Jinchul. Why would fans be interested in this story?

While the legitimacy of these Hunter Origin stories may be in doubt, Chugong's notorious claim that Solo Leveling is a parallel universe to Marvel makes them worthy of attention for fans of the series heritage. This Go Gunhee version also has potential entry into the main continuity of Lin Noon, Manhwa and anime as Sung Suho encounters himself from another universe in Solo Level: Ragnarok light novel.

The Solo Leveling: Arise Hunter Origin episode of Go Gunhee is available for free download on Netmarble 's official website. Anime cast details include Taito Ban as Sung Jin-woo and Yoo Jin-ho as Genta Nakamura, who also appears in the first two episodes.
