Anime series that don't reach their full potential: Ratings

0 မှတ်ချက်

The article rated ten anime series that set up dangerous, high-stakes scenarios but ultimately chose safe decisions. Some examples include Dragon Ball Super destroying universes only to voluntarily restore them; Sword Art Online overcoming its deadly Aincrad arc; abandoning the harsh escape plot of The Promised Neverland two seasons in a row and softening the aftermath of Naruto's Fourth Great Ninja War death: Permanent Loss, Moral Complexity or Long-Term Stability. By withdrawing from influences, these shows reduced the risk of reinforcing their core ideas.

10 movies that introduced dangerous ideas but chose a safe outcome

Playing it safe isn't always a bad decision. A lot of anime progresses as we understand what audiences want and continually roll them out. The frustration is that when a series introduces a scary, inconvenient or unpredictable idea, we only fall back to follow it. Sometimes this means refusing to kill characters after placing them repeatedly in seemingly impossible situations.

Dragon Ball Super turns the loss of cosmic scale into an acceptable wish.

Dragon Ball has always had a problem with death, and people can easily come back to it as long as Dragon Balls have existed. It was part of the decades-long franchise, but now the gods take this issue to another level with angels capable of destroying planets. The losers in the match watch their truth disappear.

During the Tournament of Power series, Angry Ultra Instinct Goku fights Jiren and the scale of the battle is huge. The entire universe was destroyed, creating one of the franchise's most extreme outcomes. However, Android 17's preference restores them comfortably.

In Sword Art Online, you left Aincrad behind.

In Sword Art Online, ten thousand players are trapped inside a virtual-reality game that cannot be logged out. Dying in the game means real death and clearing 100 levels is the only way to get home. The situation may carry great storyline on its own, but SwordArtOnline spends less than half of its first season there.

In A-1 Pictures' adaptation, Aincrad Arc frequently moves forward rather than forcing viewers to experience the entire climb with Kirito. Soon afterwards, the death game that gave the series its identity is over. The result is not only that the show continues to run; time - the most frightening resource of the situation - quickly runs out under constant deadly stress.

The Promised Neverland season 2 removes the danger that makes this series so extraordinary.

Season 1 of The Promised Neverland is breathtaking. Emma, Norman and Ray are children trying to overcome adults who control every aspect of their lives. One mistake could mean death. Every conversation with Isabella feels dangerous because the kids aren't sure how much she knows.

This made the world even more frightening. Replacement season 2 quickly overshadows key elements from the manga, with conflicts that can significantly jeopardize survival outside of the ranch. CloverWorks' first season was successful because they only had to spy for a living. The wider world should have fiercely challenged Emma's ideals JUST , but telling history is faster than risk can accumulate.

Naruto: Shippuden's Fourth Great Ninja War was remarkably safe for a world war.

In Naruto: Shippuden, the Fourth Ninja War is devastating. Each of the major shinobi kingdoms form alliances and are attacked by thousands of ninjas. Even legendary warriors return from death.

There are significant casualties, but they're small in comparison to the size of the conflict and the perceived damage; using Edo Tensei can make the war more damaging, allowing us to remain on the battlefield with familiar faces that can be destroyed repeatedly without increasing the actual death toll.

Episode 373 of Studio Pierrot makes the contradiction visible. While Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke stand back-to-back during the Fourth Ninja War, Obito Uchiha is assertive while Naruto appears with a kunai in his mouth in Six Paths Sage Mode mode. The image sells the scale of the conflict but its surrounding storytelling still protects the main characters more than would normally be allowed by a world war.

In my Hero Academy, we have a hero institution that can be rebuilt.

The most interesting concept of My Hero Academia is that it's not just superheroes who exist, heroism becomes an institution -- the heroes are rated and media coverage shapes public opinion; children are specifically trained to enter the job. An entire industry develops around the idea of a licensed hero.

The story acknowledges its problems, but is less eager to fully question the system. Even Deku's darkest moments pass relatively quickly before he is eventually returned to those who could have supported him. The larger narrative remains invested in heroes that improve society rather than asking whether the heroic community itself needs a fundamental restoration.

In the final series, Bakugo and Class A shake hands with Deku. Although the image of Studio Bones gives closure, it reflects the overarching nature of the series: The system may be damaged but characters can still reassemble.

It took Bleach a long time to challenge Soul Society.

In Bleach, Soul Society Arc reveals that it is not just an organization full of heroic guardians. Its laws can be brutal and its caste system is huge. Despite Central 46's overwhelming authority, the murder of Rukia Kuchiki demonstrates how easily the system can be manipulated.

In the story, we also see Ichigo Kurosaki rescuing Rukia Kuchiki and display personal heroism in defiance of an official order. Unfortunately, the narrative is pulled off track when Aizen is revealed to be a villain; his manipulation immediately explains the crisis, and much of Soul Society itself stands behind it. The Gotei 13 gradually become Ichigo's closest allies as attention dwindles on deeper issues within the system.

Black Clover is very good at protecting its heroes.

Enemies invade the Clover Kingdom, and demons introduce a whole new force. Several characters in Spade Kingdom are given powers they once thought were unattainable. In Black Clover Season 2, Part 1, Asta seems to have made up her mind, while Yuno prepares with Magic Knight Captains for an attack on the kingdom of Spade.

The danger grows more and more, but the consequences don't always improve. Miraculous cures and last-second interventions often soften the cost of great battles and make it hard to believe in the ultimate threat. Eternal results do not necessarily mean death.

The Rise of the Shield Hero softens its most interesting foundation.

As soon as the story begins, he is betrayed, falsely accused, and socially destroyed. The situation creates an uncomfortable protagonist. Naofuni becomes suspicious and willing to act outside of the morality expected from a traditional hero.

This is what makes the anime interesting. Unfortunately, these edges fade away as his hostile world slowly becomes another fantasy surrounded by people who recognize how special he really is. There's nothing inherently wrong with this development.

The Kinema Citrus edit features an image of Naofumi Iwatani blocking the Spear Hero's attack with a smile on his face. This gesture captures the initial moment of the situation - a hero who is being examined by a world that refuses to make things easy.

Fairy Tail never finishes its greatest adventures.

No one could have expected Fairy Tail to become such a heartbreaking character. The issue is an anime that seeks to recreate the emotional impact of tragedy without accepting its consequences.

But the character finds a way to always survive. Individually, many of these reincarnations are completely acceptable; collectively they teach viewers not to trust what they're being shown. Gillian herself has repeatedly returned from situations designed to feel terminal.

Source footage for the series shows Natsu preparing to shoot with a flamethrower in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime. Wendy uses her magic to heal Natsu, and Zeref Dragneel uses magic. Production credits include JC Staff, A-1 Pictures and Satelight.

Spy X's family protects his status a little bit well.

The central concept of Spy x Family is brilliant: Loid needs a fake family for an undercover mission, and each member of the Forger family has a secret they are hiding. The obvious emotional goal is to establish real connection through the model family.

The CloverWorks adaptation includes an image in which Loid Forger carries Yor and Anya on vacation. While the plot sells a family soap opera, it also shows the careful balance of the series. Before intentionally reinterpreting those feelings as something connected to Operation Strix, Loid experiences real anxiety for Yor and Anja.

The original text also mentions collectible items and errors.

The original source text contains an offer to rip Pokémon rated cards and Mystery Packs of level cards. & It also states that errors can be corrected by sending to [email protected].

The list of cards includes the following items: "I'm not sure what I want to do with my life.

The source also says that participants must be 18 or 19 years old and above, depending on the jurisdiction.

What does the role model mean for anime fans?

The lesson is that anime doesn't have to go dark; the sequential narratives gain credibility when consequences stick: a little war protecting key actors, an entire society of heroes avoiding death game or rebuilding until it ends at its psychological cost all create a common reading: this series desires to threaten her world but has no desire to allow what threatens to change permanently.

A more interesting question is whether future seasons, arcs or adaptations will allow the foundation to be sustainable. One of these shows didn't have to become brutally impoverished in order to look mature; they just had a chance to challenge their characters, worlds and audiences much more than last time.
